Chinese steel companies are deeply involved in African
infrastructure through the "capacity cooperation+localized services"
model. The processing centers established by XX Steel in Egypt and Kenya
have an annual production capacity of 800000 tons and can provide
value-added services such as hot rolling, galvanizing, and cutting,
saving 25% of logistics costs compared to importing from China. In the
"Green City" project of Egypt's new capital, Chinese weathering steel
Q355GNH accounts for 60% of the total steel used in the project, with a
service life of 50 years and maintenance free.
